Recording artist, actor, philanthropist, restaurateur Chris "Ludacris" Bridges has been in the entertainment business for more than 15 years. From music to movies, the fun-loving father has continued to create and entertain.
Even though all the parties, music and business, Ludacris takes his health seriously. In 2007, his father died of complications from diabetes: a far too common disease in the Black community.
So with more movies on the way, a new baby girl with his beautiful wife, Ludacris makes sure that he stays healthy for his family.
Now the once slim formerradio DJ turned rapper recently hits the gym. And we have his co-stars urging him on to keep doing it.
“The biggest difference I would say is I'm more fit," explained Ludacris.
"It was great for me because you have all these big guys in [Fast & Furious] movies--The Rock, Vin Diesel... and I was like, I know I can’t compete with them on a mass level. However, I did go to the gym everyday to get ripped."
When it comes to his diet, Ludakeeps it simple.
"I just try to eat clean at least five, six days a week. It is a little harder during travel, but I continue to try and progress and I think I just continue to buy things that try to keep me on track."
He continues on to say, "Travel things. If I’m cheating, it's probably between three or four things. Obviously pizza. Hamburgers -- an extreme hamburger, you know. Mexican food and tacos. And then pasta -- like chicken parmesan and just going crazy with spaghetti and anything you can possibly imagine when it comes to overloading on pasta."
"I work out six days a week with two different trainers. So one is a weight trainer and the other is kind of martial arts. So I stay in shape and I try to eat healthy -- keyword "try." Eudoxie, my wife, is just as much into fitness as I am."
With the help ofcelebrity personal trainer, Ludacris used a circuit workout training system to get results. In a recent...
...video he says, "If you work this hard in the gym, then you should show it off. Put in the work and reap the benefits of that work."
Here's a sample workout:
- Walking Lunges with Kettlebell exchange underneath leg
- Pushups
- Lunge Jumps (jump and land in a lunge position)
- Walk-outs (inchworms)
Three circuits: 45 seconds per exercise with a15 second break between each exercise and circuit.
