Create A Schedule To Set & Follow For Quality Time
One major mistake long-distance couples tend to make is forgetting to prioritize their relationships and make an effort. It may be difficult to manage being miles away and communicating with someone while also in school; however, there is a solution to this problem.
A great way to maintain the connection with your partner is to set times for quality time. Maybe the two of you agree that Friday nights at 8 are a great time for you to chat and spend time together.
Maybe Friday is game night, and Saturday mornings; you journal together. Also, sending each other’s schedules so that you both know when the other is busy and available to text or even call for a little bit is a great idea.
Do Activities Just As You Would If You Were Together
Though it may seem that you and your partner are limited to activities because you are long-distance, I am here to let you know that this is far from true.
There are several things that the two of you did in person that you can do even over FaceTime. Even planning for the future with your partner can be a fun activity. Doing things like:
- Creating a bucket list of things you would like to do together or places you’d like to travel together
- Have lunch or dinner
- Watch a movie together
