Winter Renewal With Aromatherapy

aromatherapy oilsAromatherapy is helpful throughout the winter season, especially for renewal.  Using essential oils in the home can soothe the spirit, ward off sickness and combat stress.  One has the options of using citrus oils, which include bergamot, lemon and grapefruit, the warming oils, ginger and coriander or immune boosting oils like cypress, and sandalwood.  To fight infection and ease congestions, you can use tea tree, pine, eucalyptus and rosewood.

Also, there are spicy essential oils such as clove, cinnamon, and nutmeg.  Clove is an essential oil which plays three basic roles: It is an antibiotic oil, a “pick me up” and, finally, a good choice to ease tension headaches.  Try it with orange or pine.  It’s a good idea to familiarize oneself with the properties of essential oils before using them.  All oils can be used alone, or be combined to create “synergies.”  A successful blend requires knowledge about the properties of essential oils and experience in balancing the different aromas to achieve the desired result.  If you are creating your own blends, start with no more than two or three oils at the most.

Winter time woes can get to even the best of us.  Thankfully, nature can also come to our defense.  It’s fun to make your own blends, but if you can’t find the time during the day, a six year-old health and wellness company called Warm Spirit offers an array of botanical products to alleviate many common ailments.  Nip the aggravation of cold congestion and the misery of flu symptoms in the bud with a seasonal self-defense pack containing, Immunitea, which has lemon balm, making it excellent for cold sores, echinacea, an immune stimulant and a system support formula which is loaded with many important antioxidants such as vitamins A, C and E.

Antioxidants improve the immune system’s functions and work to eliminate the over production of harmful cells, called free radicals.  It should be noted that echinacea, ginger and ginseng have well-documented origins and histories of healing.  Along with the Winter Remedy Pack, exercising and sweating is another excellent external method of eliminating harmful toxins from the body.  Ginger promotes perspiration which helps to slowly detoxify the body.  Another ingredient in the Winter Pack is Ginseng.  Ginseng has been used in China for thousands of years.  It is understood to be used as a natural tonic, increasing strength and promoting long life.  Often called the “King of Herbs,” Ginseng is said to counteract both physical and mental stress, increase clarity and awareness and most importantly to give us more energy.

With protective ingredients such as clove oil, tea tree oil and helicrysum, commonly called strawflower or immortelle, Warm Spirit’s Herbal Lip Balm is moisturizing and warming to the lips.  Clove oil is an excellent healing and comforting oil, and is second only to tea tree for its healing properties.  Tea Tree became popular in Australia and later research listed it as the most powerful antiseptic oil in aromatherapy.  Vitamin E has also been added to keep lips fully conditioned and soft.

Warm Spirit’s massage & body oils are superb choices to aid relaxation after a long, tiring or stressful day.  After a warm bath, caress aching muscles with these vegetable-based essential oil infused blends.  Massage helps to increase the levels of endorphins in the bloodstream.  Endorphins are chemicals released in the brain to decrease the sensation of pain or heavy stress.  Blood carries within it the nutrients that our body needs to function properly.  Endorphins are commonly called “natural painkillers.” Massage is one of the oldest therapies and is used by nearly all cultures. In three incredible blends to heal, calm the spirit, and energize, you will experience the benefits of true aromatherapy:
