How do you overcome stress, personal tragedy and loss? It's hard for anyone to do, but it's something Rodney Lenon did and is living through today. In his ebook, Lenon shares his personal story about how he gained over 100 pounds through depression after his mother passed away. As soon as Mother left I felt like I had my heart surgically removed without anesthetics and was left on the operating table to stitch myself back up. I didn’t care about anything after that especially not my health. But I still continued to lift weights and eat whatever I saw just to cope with the pain. But when my wife and I found out we were expecting I slowly started to snap out of the deep depression. Then when Kingston was born something happened in my mind."
"It was a chemical reaction from mixing the grief of losing my Mother and the joy of becoming a father that snapped me out of that deep depression and helped me get back to pursuing my fitness goals. Like when I had my first job at 17 working 2pm-10pm and working out from 10:15pm-12:30am and walking home 35 minutes to get home and see my Mother sitting on the porch at 1am waiting for me to get home because she was worried. On this journey every time it gets hard I ask myself 'Is it harder than losing mother?' No then keep going. When I get sore AF 'Does that pain hurt more than losing Mother?' No. 'Then Keep Goin.'
