Barack Loves Michelle: 31 Times He Fell In Love With Her

October 3rd marked former President Obama's and First Lady Michelle Obama's 31st wedding anniversary. On this day the nation is reminded of how much to two love each after all these years. The captured some of that love in their social media posts.

"Happy anniversary, sweetheart! @MichelleObama, you're brilliant, kind, funny, and beautiful — and I'm lucky to call you mine," Barack captioned his photo, which showed the couple clad in blue. Michelle added a little Bottega Veneta bag to her all-blue outfit and had her hair pulled back with a headband. Barack wore a bright blue jacket and khaki pants as they two posed in front of a grassy field with the blue sky behind them.

On their 30th, here's what the former President posted on Instagram:

"Miche, After 30 years, I’m not sure why you look exactly the same and I don’t. I do know that I won the lottery that day—that I couldn’t have asked for a better life partner. Happy anniversary, sweetheart!"

Then, our forever First Lady returned the heartwarming gesture with her own post about their love story:

"Happy anniversary to the man I love! These last 30 years have been an adventure, and I’m grateful to have you by my side. Here’s to a lifetime together. I love you, @BarackObama!❤️😘"

"Years ago, this guy promised me a life full of adventure," Michelle continued in a previous post. "I’d say he’s delivered. Here’s to our next chapter...while still feeling the magic that brought us together all those years ago. Happy anniversary, Barack."

We take a look back that even as the President gave his farewell speech in Chicago in 2016, former POTUS gave honor to his wife again (see below):

So what does it really take to be married for 30 years? Well, the First Lady explains it all.

"What I've come to find is, you don't sweat the small stuff," FLOTUS told Ellen DeGeneres. "The journey that we've taken together, the fun we've had, the challenges we've faced, the two beautiful children that we're raising -- I kind of give him a pass now when he leaves his socks on the floor or tells that story for the one-hundredth time and wants us to laugh at it as if we first heard it."

The President gave his ode to his wife as well in the form of a facebook post on their 2021 anniversary.

"Happy anniversary, Miche! Over the years, I've loved watching the world get to know you not just as a daughter of the South Side, but as a mother, lawyer, executive, author, First Lady, and my best friend. I can’t imagine life without you."
