5 Healing Essential Oils To Keep on You at All Times

Essential oils have been used for medical purposes for centuries and continue to utilized in holistic and homeopathic treatments to this day. The oils are naturally extracted from seeds, plants, and herbs and have been found to have physical, emotional, and psychological benefits to your health – without the harmful side effects that some prescriptions produce.

In addition, most of them have a pleasing aroma, which can activate the pleasure center of the brain and release serotonin, thus elevating the mood.

Here are a few common essential oils that have been proven to have positive overall effects on health.

Additionally, Chamomile is an effective stress reliever. Vaporizing chamomile essential oil promotes sleep and calming chemicals in the brain, producing a more relaxed state.

2. Peppermint oil

According to a University of Cincinnati study, using peppermint oil regularly increases your alertness by 30%. A few drops of this essential oil in water and your mind will feel refreshed and rejuvenated.

Peppermint oils are also great when it comes to streamlining your digestive system and can promote regularity.

3. Lavender oil

Lavender essential oils are extracted from lavender flowers. It has a very pleasant smell, so it’s no wonder that air freshener manufacturers have exploited its tantalizing aroma.

What you may not know is that lavender is a very potent antiseptic. It works well on cuts and bruises. Using a piece of cotton wool, lavender essential oil can be dabbed on wounds, bruises, cuts, and other kinds of skin irritation.

4. Tea tree oil

Perhaps the most popular of essential oils, tea tree oil is native to Australia and is the best treatment for skin fungal infections, although it has been proven useful in many different ways.

It helps promote hair growth and is usuallyan ingredient in natural shampoo to help get rid of dandruff and soothe itchiness in the scalp. When mixed with aloe vera extracts, it is the perfect skin ointment to treat skin blemishes and acne.

5. Eucalyptus oil

Eucalyptus oil is commonly used as a natural lozenge to clear nasal and chest congestion and sinuses. It is also an option for people who are prone to colds and allergies that hamper proper breathing.

Eucalyptus is also the best immunity booster due to its antibacterial properties. It is best used vaporized; applying directly on skin undiluted can cause irritation, and it should never be swallowed or consumed.
