5 Easy Steps To Beautiful Skin…For Life!

woman putting lotion on face(BlackDoctor.org) –Whether your skin is in good condition or in need of repair, basic skin care is essential. Daily maintenance, repair and prevention are key to healthy, flawless skin…not only for while you’re younger, but for every year of your life.

Each of the below steps is beneficial for any skin type:

Steam. The best time to clean your skin of all make-up and environmental residue collected during the day is just before bedtime. Use a facial steamer or just soak a cotton washcloth with warm water, then wring lightly and gently place on your entire face. Steam your face for two minutes. Let the steam penetrate to fully open your pores.

Cleanse. Next, with your pores open, splash warm water on your face and neck. Using an all-natural cleanser (always try to use a cleanser specially formulated for cleansing the face), massage onto your wet face with a soft complexion brush, or your fingertips, in a circular motion for about 40 seconds, including your neck area. Be careful to avoid the skin around your eyes. Rinse thoroughly with tepid water.

Tone. Dampen cotton ball with toner and gently wipe your entire face and neck area. This lifts away any residue that you might have missed, plus closes your pores, preparing your skin for moisturizing

Moisturize. In an upward, circular motion, apply a small amount of your favorite moisturizer to your face and neck areas. Moisturizers work to condition, moisten and protect your complexion.

Exfoliate (1-2 times a week). Moisten your face with water. Use a manual scrub (preferably with rounded granules), exfoliating gloves or a natural scrubbing brush designed for the face. Rub your face in circular motions. Avoid scrubbing under the eyes. Rinse thoroughly with tepid water. Apply a moisturizer containing alpha or beta hydroxy acids. These acids will continue the exfoliating process, because acids cause additional dead skin cells to slough off.

These five basic steps can firm and restore your skin’s natural suppleness. If you have questions about products that are ideal for your skin’s specific needs, consult with a dermatologist or other skincare expert.
