Despite all this, you must prioritize your beauty rest. All functioning adults should get at least 7 hours of sleep to be 100% themselves. Not getting the proper hours of sleep forces our bodies to go into overdrive and causes unnecessary stress.
Understanding When It’s Too Much
Ideally, we want to do everything we set our minds to. We want to be overachievers, but sometimes it’s just too much. We can’t do everything. A part of adulthood is understanding your limits.
Sometimes you may have to leave your favorite organization for a semester. Sometimes you may have to drop a class. It’s ok. It’s normal. Lastly, it’s being proactive, and you’ll thank yourself in the long run.
Practicing Self-Care
When you look good, you feel even better. Throughout your stressful moments, you may neglect the things that make you happy. Take the time to develop a skincare routine, book a hair appointment, or get a pedicure.
No matter what you’re going through, you should always ensure you’re doing what makes you happy.
Journaling To Reduce Stress in College
At the end of every day, take some time out to journal. It could be impactful, whether it’s 10 minutes or even 1 hour. We become stressed due to an overload of information.
Using a time where you gather your thoughts and reflect on your day/week would make you feel much better. It’s also another strategy to keep things organized in your life.
Spend Time In Nature
No matter the weather, we should always step outside and enjoy nature. Play in the snow, picnic, or do your homework outside. Switching your environment to tranquil areas will positively affect your mental health.
