There are just some stories that make you want to cry because they are so heartwarming and this is one of them.
Two years ago, Thomas Moore saw a video of a girl who had lost her hair due to cancer. He was so touched that he decided to grow out his hair and donate it to survivors like her. No, Thomas was not a college student or a man who had gone through something similar, Thomas was only a smiley-faced eight-year-old boy at the time.
But when he saw young Kyssi Andrews, he knew he needed to do something to help. The Maryland native decided to spend two years growing out his hair so he could cut it all off and donate it to kids battling cancer, according to Refinery29.

Amber Ray, the child’s aunt, told BuzzFeed that even though the process, which started shortly before his 8th birthday, was at times uncomfortable, Moore refused to give up. When he came close to letting his dream go, he and his family would “refocus on the reason for growing it,” according to Refinery29.
Khyrstin (Kyssi) Andrews, the young girl that moved Moore's heart, was a very cheerful and energetic 6 year old from Houston, TX. She won her battle against cancer two different times and was re-diagnosed again, for a 3rd time on April 11, 2014. Hundreds of thousands rallied around her on her facebook group until she lost her battle with cancer in 2015.
Despite the anguish that goes along with letting hair grow when you're young: interfering with how you play, in your eyes and bothering your ears and neck, Moore stick with it and at times had to have it cornrowed to keep it mobile.
All Moore's hard work paid off. Last week, Ray shared a side-by-side before-and-after of her nephew on social media. In the first image, the adorable boy’s long hair hangs loosely past his shoulders. In the second, he is holding his hair in...
...both hands. The post has received more than 113,000 likes and more than 57,000 retweets.
"I just wanted it to be long enough to make the girl happy,” he shared, referring to his original intention to donate his hair to the girl from the video. But Moore ended up growing so much hair, it was enough he was able to bless two more cancer patients, for a total of three wigs!
