When you’re a small business, every year of success is worth celebrating. But when you’re 10 years in and a Black-owned small business at that, you have to do it BIG! That’s exactly how BlackDoctor.org did it last week for our 10th anniversary, with panoramic views of the city from the Metropolitan Club of Chicago on the 66th floor of the Willis Tower (we still call it the Sears Tower), more than 300 attendees, wine flowing upon arrival and a custom photo booth to capture all the memories.
A decade ago, Reggie Ware, CEO of BlackDoctor.org, had a vision of connecting African Americans with culturally-relevant health information and going into 2016 his goal is, “to get every Black family healthy.” Reaching nearly 15 million users per month and more than a million Facebook followers, the team at BlackDoctor.org is on track to make sure that happens.
Special thanks to DJ Kid Clay, Kute Kouture Cookies, Peninsula Chicago Spa, The Publican restaurant, Cite’, photography by Eddy Lamarre, and of course, all of our readers and supporters over the years.
