In case you didn’t know by now, you are what you eat. Certain foods contain healing properties and can drastically improve your health in ways you probably didn’t know.
In fact, there are many foods that contribute to the overall health of your vagina.
Yes! An entire line-up of foods that are vagina-health-friendly!
Mainly, when speaking about the health of the vagina, the pH level is often at the center of the conversation.
At its best, the pH level causes the vagina to have good discharge, which acts as a natural cleaning agent for the body.
There should also be a certain level of acidity to the vaginal discharge due to the vagina’s role of getting rid of harmful bacteria by “burning it away.”
Confused? Don’t stress! As long as you eat some of the below foods fairly regularly, you and your vagina will be fine.
Foods for Vaginal Health
Here are 4 foods that will contribute to a healthy vagina.
1. Avocadoes
We all know that avocadoes are chocked full of healthy nutrition, but that’s just part of the story. There’s a ton of Vitamin E in avocados, which prevents vaginal dryness.
Regularly incorporating this kind of fresh produce into your diet has even been linked to less intense menstrual cramps during that time of the month.
2. Green veggies
Mama always told us that eating our vegetables would make us big and strong. What we didn’t realize was that they would also make us regular and smell good down there as well.
Vegetables like kale, spinach, and broccoli have an abundance of minerals and vitamins that keep the blood circulating in all parts of the body. They also naturally purify your blood, making your menstrual cycle a bit easier to endure.
3. Cranberry
There’s a reason why your doctor tells you to drink plenty of natural, unsweetened cranberry juice when you have a urinary tract infection (UTI).
That’s because it’s full of acid compounds that fight the bad bacteria that cause infections. But, don’t wait until something is wrong before you start consuming cranberry.
Cranberry juice also prevents the bacteria from gathering together in the first place. It’s even better if you take cranberry supplements and vitamins daily.
4. Sweet potatoes
Sweet potatoes are not only tasty in almost any form, but they’re rich in Vitamin A, which increases the production of serotonin, giving us the energy we need to get through the day.
Most root vegetables, actually, are great for giving us a bit of extra oomph when we need it. Additionally, sweet potatoes are said to strengthen your vaginal and uterine walls.
So, give these foods a try. We promise, your vagina will thank you for it!
