The time for gift hunting came around fast and I am overwhelmed, to say the least. But amidst the holiday craze, I wanted to share some of the most amazing gifts that we often tend to overlook. The best news? You don’t need your wallet.
Quality Time With Children
Time is the one thing we can’t get back or buy more of, so what better way to dedicate it than with our offspring? Sure, most kids look forward to gifts around this time of the year, as expected. But don’t forget to put away the distractions, engage, and really be present with them this year.
The amount you spend on gifts that may be of no use come next year won't compare to the time you invest here and now. What better gift than spending quality time making memories that last?
Inner Beauty
As cliche as it may sound, inner beauty is one of our greatest assets and holds major weight when it comes to how we are viewed by others. It's the essence of character, values, and empathy that form the core of who we are (and is also one of the easiest gifts to obtain). Be a good person; you can’t put a price tag on that.
Friendship
Consider yourself one of the lucky ones if you have a true friend and a shoulder to lean on. You know, the ones that offer understanding when no one else “gets you.”
The ones that check you when you’re wrong but won't embarrass you in front of others. The ones you can be yourself around (weirdness, corny jokes, and all) and share wins and losses with. Genuine friendships cannot be bought.
(Now, I’m not saying not to get her that Target gift card. *wink* I'm just saying true friendship goes beyond transactions.)

Respect
One thing we learned from the Queen of Soul: R-E-S-P-E-C-T—one of the most invaluable currencies of human interaction. Showing respect and appreciating that everyone brings something unique to the table is your best shot at any healthy relationship dynamic.
Respect also leads to trust, setting the tone for the environment and creating a safe space where everyone feels heard beyond surface-level interaction.
Gift respect to others by practicing it in your daily encounters and enjoy the ripple effect.
Drive and Motivation
If you've got drive, you’re a lot closer to your goals than you may realize, because half of the work is mindset. Whether you are self-motivated or fueled by something else, the drive for self-betterment is a gift not to be taken lightly because not everyone has that internal push.
Pass the torch and motivate the next with words of encouragement to uplift them—you’ll be remembered and appreciated.
Creativity
Creativity is an extraordinary gift that sparks innovation by allowing us to see the world through a different lens. From problem-solving to self-expression, it’s a skill that matters now more than ever (especially in the age of artificial intelligence). So if you're one of the creative ones, don't take your superpower lightly.
Supporting friends and loved ones in their artistic endeavors is a meaningful gift that will nurture their creative side.
Good Health
Sometimes we forget just how good we have it. Inhale. Now exhale. That is a gift in itself.
Good health is the power source that allows us to keep going and make the most of what life has to offer. When our brains and bodies are in tip-top shape, we focus and perform better, enhancing our quality of life (and even the lives of others). You certainly have a gift worth celebrating if you're in good health.
If you have a loved one whose health may not be in the best condition, gift them with love and support to at least contribute to their mental health. You’d be amazed at the longevity of someone who is kept in good spirits.
Be intentional this holiday season. Embrace your gifts and share them with others if you can, and if you’re reading this, know that you’re blessed far beyond a price tag.
