So, I'm sure by now most of you have heard of a Deva Cut, right? But what some of you may not know is that the Deva Cut isn't necessarily a hairstyle; it's actually a method of cutting hair dry while it's in its naturally curly, coily and wavy state.

The trademarked cutting technique was created by Lorraine Massey, a New York salon co-owner and author of "Curly Girl."According to professional natural hairstylist Aelesie J., "the technique accounts for a curl's stretch factor (we call it shrinkage) when creating a customized shape for a client." Each curl is cut individually to preserve the curl pattern.
Now that you have a clear understanding, let's talk about what makes you an ideal candidate for the Deva Cut.
1. You love rocking your curls, coils and waves.
Those of you who enjoy a good wash and go are ideal candidates for the Deva Cut. The Deva Cut highlights and showcases your multi-textured hair by giving it the life and the lift it needs.
2. You would love to add more shape to your hair.
If you constantly find yourself lifting and fluffing your hair to go up, it's time you booked yourself an appointment. No matter how much fluffing and lifting you do your hair will never get that look you are dying to have without having that special Deva Cut treatment.
3. You love volume.
I mean, what natural doesn't like having obnoxiously BIG HAIR! And for those of you that don't have big hair, the Deva Cut will create the look of more with less.
4. You don't straighten your hair often.
Keep in mind, the Deva Cut follows your natural curls, coils and kinks so when it's straightened it won't look exactly like your favorite wrap style from 1995. However, it will still be manageable enough to create a foxy, sophisticated look with.
