Lamar Odoms Remains In Critical Condition: What The Doctors Are Saying

lamar odomFormer Los Angeles Laker and Clipper Lamar Odom was found unconscious in a Las Vegas-area brothel and taken to a hospital Tuesday afternoon, brothel owner Dennis Hof told The Times.

Some may remember Dennis Hof from the HBO docu-series, “The Bunny Ranch”, where he owned and operated a legal brothel in Nevada.

A spokeswoman for the County’s Sheriff’s Office confirmed an ambulance was sent to Hof’s Love Ranch brothel near Las Vegas and that Odom had been treated by paramedics and stabilized before he was taken to the Desert View Hospital.

Below is the statement that was issued on the department’s Facebook page.

“At approximately 3:15 pm on October 13, 2015, a call came into the Nye County Dispatch Center from Richard Hunter, Media Director for Dennis Hof’s Bunny Ranch, requesting an ambulance for an unresponsive male experiencing a medical emergency at the Love Ranch in Crystal, Nevada, approximately twenty miles north of Pahrump, Nevada in Nye County.

“An ambulance from Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Service arrived at 3:34 pm and the patient, identified as Lamar Odom was stabilized and transported to Desert View Hospital arriving at 4:16 pm. Nye County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Cory Fowles and Michael Eisenloffel arrived and conducted an investigation on scene.

“After being treated by the physicians, arrangements were made to transport him by Mercy Air helicopter. However, Mr. Odom was unable to be transported by air due to his stature. He was immediately transported by Pahrump Valley Fire and Rescue Ambulance to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada for further treatment.”

Sources in the hospital say the doctors are not ruling out any possibility for his unconsciousness: drug misuse, malnutrition, head trauma, etc. As of 8:38a.m. EST on October 14, 2015, Odom is still listed in Critical condition.

Odom told Hof on Saturday that he wanted to come out to Hof’s Love Ranch brothel near Las Vegas on Saturday, and Odom stayed in Hof’s home attached to the brothel, Hof told The Times.

Odom “wanted to get away from everybody, wanted to have fun,” said Hof, who was in northern Nevada over the weekend.

Hof’s workers reported Odom had ordered a bottle of cognac over the weekend but had not finished it by Tuesday — a third of the bottle was still left, Hof said.

When arriving, the emergency medical team will go through a few steps to get the unconscious patient back alert and to assess what other damage has been done.
