The public has regularly accused Lionel Richie of having plastic surgery over the years of his career. Since the singer has not noticeably aged over the years, it has resulted in a lot of speculation if Richie has ever had plastic surgery. The conversation sparked attention over the weekend after he performed at a concert for the coronation of King Charles this past weekend. However, Richie is here to shut down these rumors.
Richie, 73, recently chatted with the Daily Mail to talk about why he has avoided plastic surgery in his lifetime and why you will never catch him under the knife.
'[Plastic surgery] locks you in for that year [while you recover] - and after that, you can't go naturally, you're staying right there... You try and go back to reset, and you can't,” he told the Daily Mail.
His secret to looking youthful over the years? He credits three key factors: sleep, diet, and sex.

“'Water, sleep, and sweat, not too much red meat…I know it's real boring. [Sex] will work also and it's good for your heart.”
Even though Richie tried to clear up the confusion, a lot of people still took to social media to counter his statement that he had never had any type of surgery.
Still, the singer isn't shy about talking about plastic surgery and the potential consequences that come with it, something that has been discussed more frequently lately.
There has been a notable uptick in the conversations about whether plastic surgery is necessary. Celebrities like Blac Chyna and Latto have been vocal about why they don't think people should undergo plastic surgery.
Latto discussed on her 777 Radio Apple Music show that she recommends young people think about the decision of getting plastic surgery because it’s a ‘permanent fix.’

“I’m telling you from someone who’s been there, done it, find peace within your natural state. Because you’re going to find a flaw and another flaw and another flaw and another flaw,” the rapper stated. “I’m a very much advocate for women in general. Surgery, natural, whatever. However you want to play it, just make sure that’s what you are comfortable with, but I just think surgery is so popular now,” she continued.
As for Blac Chyna, when she joined the Tamron Hall show, she stated that she was done with plastic surgery.
“Being in the industry, you want to have this image of yourself to look perfect…And there's no such thing as that. There's no such thing," she stated.
Throughout the years, there have been reports of celebrities who have chosen to remove their implants without making a public announcement.
Despite the fact that it is impossible for anyone to remain young forever, we acknowledge celebrities for their honesty in sharing the truth about plastic surgery.
