DIY Pumpkin Face Mask

‘Tis the season for all things pumpkin, but it shouldn’t stop at just carving them up for Halloween or drinking pumpkin chai. Pumpkin is packed with skin-nourishing vitamins, antioxidants, and zinc that makes it perfect year round to protect your skin from wrinkles and age spots. Try this simple DIY mask once a week to to get smooth, firm skin.

Ingredients

1/4 cup pumpkin

1 egg

Honey (optional)

Apple cider or cranberry juice (optional)

Directions

1. Whisk together the egg and pumpkin puree.

2. If you have oily skin, add just a few splashes of cranberry juice or cider as an astringent. If your skin is dry, add a few teaspoons of honey. The antibacterial properties of honey will help prevent breakouts. Honey will also help keep your skin moist.

3. Apply the mixture to your face and let sit 15-20. Rinse.

If you don’t happen to have a fresh pumpkin around, you can conveniently purchase canned pumpkin puree from the store.
