Tiara Kristine: Fit For A Goddess

Chances are, you've seen fitness model, entrepreneur and internet sensation, Tiara Kristine somewhere on the internet modeling fitness gear or or on someone's post about beauty. Her pictures are notorious for showing up all over the web.  In real life, Tiara is originally from the Bay Area in California, but she grew up all over. Her step dad was in the army so she lived everywhere around the world from, Germany, Europe, Washington, Georgia--she was an army brat.

But how she turned into an internet sensation and model is something that came from a simple comment.

"I was working and wearing my suits and all the guys would want to stop and stare," says Kristine. "When I would go out people would stop and stare. I was working a regular job and making like $60,000 a year and it was cool. But I was working 40 hours a week and it sucked."

"Then I heard someone say instead staring they should, 'take a picture, it would last longer' and found out that people would be willing to pay $19.99 a pop to look at and say 'Okay, I'm doubling what I make in corporate America,' so you do the math."

And the rest is history. From there, Tiara created a website and it grew. Tiara's yoga fit series, nature series, sensual series and waist bead series and products have all been best sellers and she's been constantly referenced as health and fitness goals.

"In my opinion Health is the state of one’s overall well-being which isn’t necessarily solely determined by how one tends to 'look,'" explains the beautiful health enthusiastic on her website. "Holistic Well Being includes not just the state of the physical body, but also the mental (psychological), emotional, and spiritual bodies. To me, healthy would be operating in a holistic (whole) state of being experiencing and balancing out all the fluctuating states of Self."

"To be Healthy is to be able to flow in in all states relative to your own unique being to achieve/bring back/maintain balance. Its being open to a new perspective on 'healing' by embracing...

... all that is in contrast to what 'healthy' is. To flow and be engaged in the process of Life. This is how I have experienced health."

Tiara has some sage advice for those who also want to venture into the realm of being more comfortable in their skin and sexuality. For Tiara, it wasn't always easy.

"I always tell people you will not know who you are until you can feel that way about yourself in the contrast. I’ve always been used to getting attention or getting compliments my whole life, to me it was normal. To me it was like this is who I am, this is nature this is how sh*t works. When I started my site people would say “Omg, you’re so fearless” and I would say no it’s not that I’m fearless but maybe more courageous. It’s not like I just went in all gung ho. It took me years to uncover my layers. The more I stripped down the more of myself I was seeing until I stripped down to nothing. Along the way I would come across people who did have something to say about it and I would still feel what I would feel. I respect people’s opinion but I still feel how I feel. That’s how you know you’re comfortable with who you are because you’re not trying to get everybody to like you or to approve of you because if you need all of that you just don’t feel it for yourself.

"I live my life open. A lot of people say I’m free spirited but I prefer open because many people hear free spirit and think you’re  down to just do any and everything and that’s not the case. Free Spirit just means you’re open to life. You’re not really rejecting anything but you’re not just going for anything either. Express because I naturally express myself. As a little girl my dad would always tell me to not hold things in to express myself . He would always say, 'You’re my baby but you’re not my property. I don’t own you. You have thoughts. You have feelings. You have ideas. You’re a person and you have to get it out. Dare to be yourself.'”

Since Tiara is an expert at yoga, we put together these four muscle-toning yoga poses as a sequence 3 to 5 times a week to tone your entire body.

Plank

Begin on all fours with your arms straight and shoulders stacked over your wrists. Have your palms flat and shoulder width apart. Curls your toes under and step both feet back until your legs are straight and your feet are hip width apart. Bring your shoulders, hips and heels into one straight line with your core and quad muscles engaged. Distribute your weight of your knuckles evenly and slightly look past your fingertips. Hold for 5 to 10 breaths.

Chaturanga

From the plank pose, extend your gaze forward and keep the front ribs in as you bend your elbows halfway to the ground. Keep your elbows in and over your wrists, and...

...lower your shoulders so they’re in line with your elbows. Keep looking forward with your shoulders lifted. Your upper back should be broad and the tips of your shoulder blades should draw down the back. Hold for 5 breaths.

Side Plank

Begin in the plank pose. Bring your left palm to the center of the your mat and roll onto the outer edge of your left foot. Stack your right foot on top of the your left. Press deeply into your left palm to bring your shoulder away from your earlobe and stack your right shoulder directly above your left. Engage your obliques by lifting and stacking your hips. Extend your right arm straight up and look sideways or upward. Hold for 5 to 10 breaths. Repeat on the opposite side.

Easy Yoga Poses For Back Pain

Chair

Begin in the mountain pose, standing straight with your arms down at your sides. Bend your knees and drop your hips, bringing your weight onto your heels. Press your lower legs back so you can see your toes when you look down. Drop your tailbone, firm your front ribs inward, and lift your arms up shoulder width apart. Keep your shoulders relaxed and rotate the outer edges of your arms inward. Look slightly upward. Hold for 5 to 10 breaths.
