20 Great Father’s Day Activities He Won’t Forget

Father's Day

Sometimes your perfect Father’s Day needs more than a well-thought-out gift. But what are your options if you want to plan a unique activity with your dad? Let’s look at 20 of them!

1. Have A Game’s Day

Is your dad into board games? Well, Father’s Day is a great time to indulge in his favorites. He might enjoy it even more if other family members get involved.

2. Go On A Road Trip

Seeing the sights is a great way to relax. Is there somewhere your father has always wanted to visit or hasn’t been in a long time? Road trip!

3. Taste A Drink Or Two

Okay, this one is for the alcohol connoisseurs out there and you can take two different approaches. You can go to a planned event or make your own. The beauty of planning your own tasting session is that there’s no limit to what you can try or how much fun you can incorporate.

4. Plan A Backyard Barbecue

This can be a great activity for the whole family or just a nice time to fire up the grill. If he enjoys cooking, you can supply all the meat and put everything together. You may also turn things around and do all the cooking for him as an exciting surprise.

6. Take Him To A Game

Depending on your father’s interests, a good baseball or soccer game might be just what he needs to enjoy his day.

7. Treat Him To A Performance

What can you do if you don’t want to leave the house but have some talented family members? Well, you put on a show for your dad! The performance can be musical or an all-around extravaganza where anything goes.

8. Check Out An Escape Room

How about an activity for the dads who love figuring out mysteries and putting puzzles together? Find out what nearby escape rooms have to offer.

9. Get Competitive

There have been a growing number of competitive events like mud runs and exercise challenges in recent years. If you and your dad are up to it, one of those activities could be a great fit.

10. Hire A Private Chef

How about treating your dad to some great food without leaving the house or doing any of the work? A private chef can be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for both of you.

11. Test A Race Car Together

Many dads dream of driving a race car and this month, you can make that dream come true. Just strap in and enjoy!

12. Pamper Him With A Spa Day

Does your dad do a lot for everyone else but doesn’t make time for his own self-care? Well, here’s how you can correct that - set him up with a nice, relaxing spa day.

13. Explore His Hobbies

While hobbies can be solo activities, some dads would love to share them with loved ones. Is your dad into collecting antiques, bird watching, or restoring old furniture? Make his day by getting involved.

14. Build A Family Tree

Your dad might know a lot of your family’s history but what if there’s even more to explore? You could make the day all about building as detailed a family tree as you can.

15. Get Close To Nature

If the weather is right, you could take your dad on a hike or cycle on a nice trail. It’s a great way to spend quality time together while enjoying the view.

16. Take A Cooking Class Together

Okay, maybe your dad likes trying out new recipes. An in-person or online cooking class can fill that need quite nicely.

17. Try An Exercise Class

How about getting in shape together with a new exercise class? You and your dad can try something different like hot yoga, dancing, or water aerobics.

18. Head To The Beach

This is an ideal activity for the entire family. Just pack up the car and go frolic on the beach for a bit.

19. Take Him To A Museum Of His Choice

Dads don’t always have the time or company to visit the museums that have caught their eye, so yours will definitely appreciate it if you take them where they’d like to go.

20. Try Out A Rage Room

Do you feel like you and your dad could blow off some steam? That sounds like a good reason to break stuff in a rage room.

The great thing about this list is that you can personalize an activity to your dad’s interests. You can make Father’s Day extra special by combining several activities or events and making it a day he’ll remember for years to come.
