1. Butterfly Tea

Butterfly Tea is also known as blue tea. Made from the Clitoria Ternatea plant, it has various health benefits, making it a highly sought-after hot or cold tea. Not only is this beautiful blue tea rich in antioxidants like anthocyanins which give it its blue appearance, but it also works wonders for brain health due to its included compounds called acetylcholine. Butterfly Tea is an ideal option to help address the following issues.

  • Increased focus
  • Alzheimer’s: Acetylcholine is known to boost cognitive function and age-related cognitive illnesses such as Alzheimer’s.
  • Anxiety: Contains natural stress-reducing properties that can promote calmness and reduce anxiousness.
  • Digestive health: Its anti-inflammatory components can help with indigestion and nausea.
  • Regulate blood sugar levels: Its compounds inhibit the absorption of sugars leading to regulated blood sugar levels.
  • Improved eyesight: The tea’s proanthocyanidin helps to assist with improved vision by increasing the blood flow to the eyes.

2. Chamomile Tea

The Chamomile plant produces daisy-like flowers, perfect for steeping into tea. Studies of chamomile tea suggest that its chemicals known as flavonoids help to produce its numerous health benefits. This tea’s anti-inflammatory properties, sedative, and anti-anxiety compounds can also assist in decreasing some of the effects of the following issues:

  • Pre-Menstrual Syndrome: The antispasmodic and sedative properties can ease discomfort often caused by PMS.
  • Diabetes: Chamomile can help to lower the glycemic and lipid profiles of those suffering from Diabetes.
  • Inflammation: The tea’s compounds can help reduce harmful inflammation.
  • Anxiety: Its sedative properties can aid in producing feelings of calm and relaxation, helping you to fall asleep, although it is not a proven treatment for insomnia.

3. Green Tea

Green Tea is by far one of the world’s most popular teas. However, it’s more than just a nice warm beverage to consume with your sushi rolls. This tea is rich in a type of antioxidant known as catechins. One particular catechin that it’s high in is called epigallocatechin-3 gallate (EGCG). This is the rock star of the catechins and helps with issues such as:

  • Cancer-causing inflammation: Green tea’s flavonoids help to reduce inflammation.
  • Stroke and heart disease: The antioxidants reduce cholesterol while the flavonoids keep blood flowing smoothly.
  • Bone strength: The EGCG and other polyphenols in green tea have been shown to strengthen bones over time.
  • Prostate health: The EGCG has also been shown to reduce the appearance of an enlarged prostate.
  • Weight loss: The catechins may help to break down body fat and boost your metabolism.

4. Lemon Balm Tea

Lemon Balm tea is made from the Melissa Officinalis plant, native to the mint family. Many varieties of Lemon Balm tea exist but Lemon Balm can also be consumed in the form of a supplement or extract. The tea is commonly used to address the following:

  • Mood regulation: Its abundance of phytochemicals helps produce a calming effect.
  • Insomnia: Studies have found that these phytochemicals also help those who struggle to fall asleep. Not only will they fall asleep, but they’ll also stay asleep longer.
  • Menstrual pain: Researchers have found that the antispasmodic properties of the herb can help decrease the occurrence of painful menstrual cramps.

5. Black Tea

Another one of the world’s most popular teas, Black Tea is made with the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plan. What’s unique about Black Tea is that it goes through an oxidation process that exposes the cells inside of its leaves to oxygen. This gives it properties that other teas don’t have called theaflavins along with commonly seen compounds called flavonoids. These can have the same benefits as other teas and produce greater advantages.

  • Promotes heart health: The theaflavins reduce cholesterol while the flavonoids protect against the onset of a heart attack.
  • Reduces stroke occurrence: Drinking two cups of Black Tea can help to ward off the onset of a stroke by 16% compared to non-tea drinkers.
  • Lessens risk of death from illnesses: Drinking two cups of Black tea can help to prevent death caused by any issue by 13% compared to non-tea drinkers.
