Back in April of 2019, the now 56-year-old announced to Instagram last year that she was joining the WW (formerly Weight Watchers) community as an Ambassador. Other celebrity ambassadors include Oprah Winfrey and Kate Hudson, who have also slimmed down using WW.
"The last five or six years, I’ve been dealing with my knee," confessed Mann. "I had to have knee surgery, but prior to the knee surgery, I was working just in pain, but a lot of people didn’t know what. I just kept the poker face. And also another thing that we’re all, I’ve been dealing with my whole life, which is weight. And then I decided to just think about my health and wellness. These last few years, to really kind of tune in on it to do better."

The award-winning singer set some goals to develop healthier habits and lose weight, not only for her, but for her family. Mann's 31-year-old daughter Tiffany also joined her mom on the quest to get healthier, which has been motivating for Mann.
"It’s nice to have a family member who’s like-minded on this journey! We both have goals we’re trying to reach," Mann told WW. "Mama has always led by example—she’s a great wife and mother, and an incredible performer. I’ve found myself looking to her to learn how to take better care of my body because she’s taken off! She is doing so good!" Tiffany said of Mann.
After beginning WW's new weight loss program in January of this year, the award-winning gospel singer revealed to Instagram that, "50 pounds lighter and I'm feeling amazing!" she captioned in her new slimmer post.

The Meet the Browns star told WW that she's learned how to portion her meals. She said she eats turkey sandwiches, but "now when I have one, I’ve learned to cut it in half to make it into two meals."
Mann typically starts her day with eggs, toast, and bacon for breakfast. "I’m beginning to eat the eggs without cheese to save SmartPoints," she said. And her favorite ZeroPoint foods, which you can eat unlimited amounts of on the WW plan? Fruit! "There’s a wide variety of fruit [on the ZeroPoint foods list]—I love that," she told WW.
When it comes to eating in between meals, Mann keeps her snacks separate from her five kids and eight grandchildren's selections. "...My house is full of kids. I still have their snacks, BUT my @ww snacks have their own section in the pantry!!" she wrote in an Instagram post from June.

People who have moderate to severe arthritis in both knees may consider getting double knee replacements—replacing both knees during one surgery. Between 4% and 6% of knee replacement surgeries are double knee replacements,1 during which both of the patient’s knees are replaced. This procedure is sometimes called bilateral knee replacement.
Double knee replacements have similar short- and long-term results to single-knee replacements. Most patients report a reduction in knee pain and an improvement in function after both surgeries.
Many people consider double knee replacements, at the same time, more efficient and convenient. For example, patients spend less time in the hospital, less time off work, and less time in physical therapy. It also tends to cost less than having two separate surgeries.

However, there are disadvantages, including an increased risk of blood loss and increased risk of complications. (Though it is worth noting that people who elect to have double knee replacement are exposed to these risks just one time.)
There are no set age requirements for double knee replacements. Some surgeons use a cut-off age—for example, they might only perform double knee replacements on patients aged 60 and younger. Other surgeons evaluate each patient on a case-by-case basis.
