Prince’s Cause Of Death: What The Police Are Saying

Prince’s autopsy was just completed … but the cause of the singer’s death is still a mystery.

Family, fans and followers alike want to know what really happened. Here’s what we know right now:

Wednesday around 8:00 p.m. – It was at 8pm the night before that he was last seen alive after being dropped off at his home.

Thursday morning between 7:00 – 9:00a.m. – Representatives could not reach Prince and went to Paisley Park and found him unresponsive.

Thursday 10:12 a.m. – He was found on the first floor inside of his elevator. CPR was started but he was unresponsive. Sheriff’s department was called.

Thursday 11:30 a.m. – The Sheriff department arrived and then began an investigation

The four hour autopsy procedure started at 9 AM CDT Friday and Prince’s body was released to his family between 1pm and 2pm Friday afternoon. We’re told results from the exam won’t be disclosed until toxicology results come back. The sheriff’s departments said that could take several weeks.

A rep for the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Minnesota says they’re still collecting the singer’s medical records as well as family medical history to complete their investigation.

TMZ reported that Prince was spotted Wednesday late afternoon pacing outside a local Walgreens waiting on a prescription.
Prince died Thursday morning after being found unresponsive in his Paisley Park compound.

No signs of trauma was spotted. Results from autopsy may take several weeks.

They will be gathering Prince’s personal medical records, his family’s medical history and what they call a social examination of his family and friends.

In a uncommon move at a press conference, the representative from the medical examiner’s office asked all those in the room, “who was a fan of Prince?” With many raising their hands, she thanked all those who have been respectful and patient in this investigation. She compared it’s magnitude to that of Elvis Presley when he died and wanted to let everyone know that will do everything they could to get to the true cause of death.
