Singer, songwriter Pharrell Williams made the whole world feel "Happy" when he released the song in 2014. Everyone from thugs to church people were singing, "...because I'm happy!" The song became so popular that even the United Nations created a "Be Happy" day around the world.
Now the 51-year-old married, award-winning, baby-faced artist and father of three shares what makes his skin happy, because a lot of people have been asking.
In an interview with Time Out London, "Skateboard P" Williams responded to the question that he's some type of vampire. That's the only way some people think he can keep such a youthful look in his 40's.
And yes, there seem to be a lot of people searching for 'Is Pharrell Williams a vampire?' on Google.
"Are you a vampire?" To which the Blurred Lines singer responded:
"No I am not. I’m willing to go on record as saying that I don’t drink people’s blood. How do I stay so young-looking for a 40-something year old? I wash my face."
Wait...is that it? Is that the holy grail that we've been waiting on? Well, yes, and no. It really depends on what Pharrell uses to wash his face.
The multi-platinum hit maker revealed that he learned all he needed to know about skincare from supermodel Naomi Campbell. "Listen, this is what you have to do — you have to go to a dermatologist; you can’t keep using drugstore products," she told him. Clearly, he listened.

Pharrell recommends using Cetaphil and Glyton Self-Foaming Cleanser, along with a moisturizer and toner approved by a dermatologist to keep skin looking youthful. The Cetaphil line is known to be gentle and it is widely recommended by dermatologists as well as skin care professionals. The company offers a variety of products based on individual needs, whether skin is acne-prone, oily, dry, or eczema-prone and if a person suffers from rosacea or psoriasis, there is a product to help. Cetaphil has a wide range of cleansers and moisturizers to suit most people’s needs. The Glyton Self-Foaming Cleanser is made from non-irritating ingredients and the self-foaming material clears away dirt, allowing the skin to breathe while effectively removing dirt and oil.

Pharrell believes in his skincare regime so much that he created a new skincare line, Humanrace. According to the website, Humanrace Skincare works to prepare, repair and protect your skin.
The doctor that partnered with Pharrell on his skincare brand is Dr. Elena Jones, MD. Dr. Jones is a native New Yorker, board-certified dermatologist, mother, and long-time friend and dermatologist of Pharrell. After attending Wellesley College, Dr. Elena went to Georgetown School of Medicine. She completed Pediatrics Residency at New York University/Bellevue Hospital and Dermatology Residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
One other important factor Pharrell says that many people leave out is water. Water, water and more water. The artist is constantly drinking...
... water (not soda, not pop, not juice, not drinks as you would think--just water. Water is the rejuvenating factor that many who try to treat their skin miss. It's not only what you put on your skin, but what you put in your body.
One of Pharrell’s tips is to use a good toner as they are important to prepare skin for moisturizers. They clear away any excess dirt or dead skin and allow skin to be free from any dampness so that they can absorb the important nutrients in moisturizers. Dermatologists usually recommend alcohol-free toners for most people, as they are more gentle and will not dry out skin as much as toners that contain alcohol. Toners also come in varieties according to skin types, so it is important to find the right one to suit the type of skin it is being used on.
So in the next 10 years when we all age and Pharrell is still looking like he's about to go on someone's prom, we will know why.
