R&B princess Ashanti definitely has the look. Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Ashanti has a lot to be proud of these days.
The record label she owns, Written Entertainment, continues to release albums, she continues to tour and has even launched a line of merchandise.
Ashanti's killer vocals breathed life into hits such as Foolish, What’s Luv? and Always On Time has always been considered attractive, but recently, she has been seen flaunting her curves on the beach and around the globe which leave many wondering how she's able to ride the line between sexy and classy without being over the top.
"If you are confident in being who you are as a woman, it’s about respecting yourself," the now 42-year-old Ashanti reveals. "If you believe strongly in who you are, you can do it. You can be sexy and be sensual and be pro-woman and be a boss and be a feminist. There is a difference between being provocative and trashy."
Ashanti is committed to the gym and exercises with a personal trainer wherever in the country she may be.
She also insists she’d rather make sacrifices when it comes to eating and exercise than have to limit her wardrobe and not feel good in her clothes.
She explained: “As women, we already have to wear uncomfortable shoes, so our feet are always hurting.
So if you can find an outfit that looks amazing, fits amazing and it’s comfortable, you’re winning.”
Here, she gives tips on how she achieved her rock hard body.
"I’m going to be honest with you. This may be TMI but a great colonic does wonders. Wonders, I promise you," confesses Ashanti. "Colonics and squats and cut out fried foods."
A colonic is the infusion of water or other liquids into the rectum by a colon therapist to cleanse and flush out the colon. It is also called colonic hydrotherapy or colon irrigation.
While Colonic Irrigation can help you to lose weight, the weight you are losing will not actually consist of fat tissue. Instead, your weight loss will be from the removal of mucus and hardened waste (sludge) that has built up along the walls of your colon.
That’s right, all of your bloat, general lack of energy, and higher than weight can actually be attributed to kilograms of excess waste that the body hasn’t been able to eliminate. The worst part? Most of this is taking place inside of your colon without you even realizing it!
Colon irrigation gives your digestive system a refreshing cleanse to make sure everything is working at maximum capacity. When your colon and digestive system are in poor health, they’re not able to do their job as efficiently.
This results in a sluggish digestive tract that’s slow to eliminate waste, affecting your weight, your skin and even your hair. Not to mention, not eliminating waste produces toxins ideal for bacteria to thrive in. All of these factors can negatively impact the way your body digests food and uses/stores the calories.
Ashanti did also say that her diet was not totally strict, explaining that when she got really hungry she ate fruit.

She admittedly struggles with yo-yo weight loss. But she lost the weight she wanted and gained the muscle in areas she wanted to0 and has managed to maintain it.
However, her diet is not always perfect. She says she's "realistic" when it comes to her diet.
If she wants something fattening, she eats a little bit of it, not the whole thing like she used to.
Ashanti’s diet is based on portion control, where managing weight is achieved by understanding the correct serving size and the calories that come with it.
