You've heard of "Netflix and Chill," right?
Well, what about "Fried Chicken and Chill"? Sounds pretty good, right? Well, its a real thing.
For those stuck at home during the coronavirus outbreak due to restrictions of going out, Popeyes has come to the rescue.
If you're a regular streaming service user (Hulu, Disney+, Apple TV+, Amazon Prime, etc), you've probably "borrowed" a password or two or three (thanks cousin Greg!) from friends or family members. Well, the chicken chain is offering a unique promotion in which the company will provide some Popeyes fans with a username and password for Netflix so customers can "fried chicken 'n' chill."

The company is planning to give the login credentials to the first 1,000 people who post photos of themselves eating Popeyes on Twitter with the hashtag #ThatPasswordFromPopeyes. The chain still offers drive-through and takeout service despite restaurant restrictions and stay-at-home orders around the country.
“Where we come from, everyone is family. And families share video streaming accounts,” said a commercial announcing the promotion. The login information given to qualifying customers will be valid for a month.

But this is Popeye's first entrance into the the whole viral marketing campaign life. If you remember, last year Popeyes created madness on social media when it unveiled its chicken sandwiches as THE chicken sandwich to beat. They pit themselves against popular poultry competitor sandwich chain Chick-fil-A. The popularity of Popeyes sandwiches fueled incredible sales online and in-store. For all intents and purposes, it was a win for Popeyes.
What about now? Would you like a password to chill?
Something tells me, if this promotion goes well, they will extend it again and again, just like the chicken sandwiches.
