The Journal of Black Sexuality and Relationships (JBSR) is a refereed, interdisciplinary, scholarly inquiry devoted to addressing the sexual expression and relationships of persons within the African diaspora.

This quarterly journal will be used as a medium to capture the experiences of Black individuals, couples and families. This journal seeks to take into account the transhistorical substrates that subsume behavioral, affective, and cognitive functioning of persons of African descent as well as those who educate or clinically serve this important population.
The JBSR covers all sexuality topics including (but not limited to): Romantic relationships; intimacy; friendships; sexual orientation/identity; parenting; divorce and break ups; relationship status (e.g., casual or committed); homophobia; sexuality and the Black church; Black feminism/womanism; sex addition; sex therapy; blended families; media influences; music and art; and aesthetics (e.g., hair, skin tone, body image, etc.).
