Each of these ingredients can be found right at home in your own kitchen, making it extremely simple and convenient to create.

DIY Hair Mask 1: Sweet As Honey

The first mask has ingredients that are jammed packed with nutrients that feed your dry, brittle hair.

  • 1/4 cup honey- This is an emollient which means that it is a natural softener. It improves the health of hair follicles, which are responsible for hair growth. The natural antioxidant that the honey contains also stimulates hair growth by making the scalp healthy. It has been said that proper use of honey can awaken the sleeping hair follicles that boost hair growth.
  • ½ cup yogurt- Surprisingly, yogurt has been used since ancient times. The multi-vitamin rich food contains an endless amount of lactic acid that is extremely beneficial for dull hair. This acid is great for cleansing the scalp and clearing away any unwanted skin cells.
  • 1 banana- Yes, that’s right, it’s not just for eating! Bananas help with the prevention of hair loss and are a natural conditioner. Bananas also repair the scalp and hair that are severely damaged.
  • Essential oil 5-10 drops (optional) - Add your favorite essential oil to form a sweet smell, leaving the hair with a pleasant scent.

Sweet As Honey Results

This mixture brings your hair back to life, adding a natural shine.

Once all of the elements are combined and come to a creamy consistency, apply it to damp hair. Use a shower cap while you let the mask sit for about 25 minutes.

Once time is up, take a wide-tooth comb and detangle while making sure the product has been properly distributed. Rinse with warm water and shampoo and condition with a mild shampoo.

Make sure the entire mask has been removed.

DIY Hair Mask 2: Proteini

The second mask is power-packed with protein.

  • 2 tbsp honey- (see benefits above)
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar- Although this may not be the most pleasant ingredient to utilize, it has incredible properties. For starters, it maintains the natural PH balance and removes nasty buildup without getting rid of natural oils. The vinegar can also seal hair cuticles, preventing split ends over time, and creating a smoother and softer shine to the hair.
  • 2 eggs- This provides a powerful amount of protein. The fatty acids and vitamins help make the follicles stronger and prevent split ends. Eggs will also make your hair smoother and thicker over time, and give a bright shine to dull damaged hair. Vitamin A in egg yolks can also improve the ability to create natural moisture, which is often hard to find in store-bought products. The eggs can even control dandruff, dry scalp, and prevent hair loss. Best of all, eggs maintain the natural oils, promoting healthier hair.

Proteini Results

Combining all of these ingredients creates a product that will repair and cleanse hair all at once.

Apply this blend to damp hair. Let the mask rest while wearing a shower cap for exactly 20 minutes. If this mask is left on for too long, the apple cider vinegar could fry the hair and eventually cause damage.

Rinse the mask with warm water.  In the last step: Shampoo and condition with mild soap for best results, and double-check to ensure that the mask has been completely removed.

Enjoy!
