7 Ways To Reclaim Your Sexy After Pregnancy

Pregnancy can be a beautiful moment in a woman's life, but it is also physically and mentally demanding. In the process of creating a new life, some women can begin feeling unattractive or less desirable. After the baby arrives, those feelings can intensify and sometimes become overwhelming. If you are a woman with a desire to reclaim her sexy, here are seven tips to get you on the right track.

1. Reevaluate your diet.

Along with the joys of pregnancy come food cravings that can pack on pounds that will take a little work to burn off post delivery. After your hormones have settled and your appetite is yours to claim once again, revisit your diet plan and add some fresh fruits and veggies that are known to moisten yin (feminine) energy. Melons, berries, pineapples, leafy green vegetables and squashes are just a few of the foods from the earth known to maintain bodily pH and balance libido. Reclaiming your sexy first begins with nourishing your body from the inside.

2. Pamper yourself.

Nine months of carrying and caring for baby can take a toll on energy, and after the bundle of joy makes its entrance into the world the work doesn't stop. It can be difficult to find time to relax and care for self in the midst of caring for a newborn, but if mommy isn't well rested and feeling her best she won't be able to give the amount of energy she needs to care for not only the baby but her significant other. Changes in the body, from an expanding belly to weight gain, can take a toll on one's self esteem, so take the time to pamper yourself. Whether setting an appointment for a spa day or creating your own spa day at home, take the time to put your feet up and relax with a facial mask, a body scrub and a soothing bath accompanied by candle light and soft music. If a massage therapist isn't within your budget, put the hands of your significant other to work and request a relaxing rubdown. You are worth it. 3. Revamp your look.

Now that the baby is here, you may look at yourself differently than you did before. A common way to reclaim your sexy is to play with your look. Try a new hairstyle that you've been checking out for a few weeks or purchase a new lip color to give your face a refreshed look. Now that your body has begun to return to its original state, look into purchasing a few new items to supplement your wardrobe. Some women may gain a new set of curves that would be better complemented with new clothing styles than what is currently in your closet.  Make a day out of it and turn it into a mommy makeover. A little retail and beauty therapy never hurt anyone.

4. Adopt a new workout plan.

Working out isn't always about being ripped but moreso about being healthy and feeling amazing. Being active helps with balancing libido and maintaining a shape that will make any woman feel sexy in the skin she is in. If your workout routine is dated or if you've never had one in place, post baby is a great time to adopt one. Yoga, Zumba and dance are all great forms of exercise that help to awaken feminine energy and to tone out the body without building heavy muscle mass. Look for a class in your area that fits with your schedule to begin to reclaim your sexy one session at a time.

5. Embrace your body in the moment.

There is nothing more sexy than a woman that can be confident no matter where her body is throughout life's changes. Reclaiming your sexy begins with understanding that your body is resilient and will constantly be changing as life rolls on by. Embrace your body in the moment by spending time in the mirror in the nude, moving your body to the rhythm of your favorite songs that make you feel sexy. Dress for your body's size in the moment in fabrics and colors that make you feel sexy and walk with your head high knowing that the sexiest thing you can wear is confidence.  6. Use meditation to get in touch with self.

Being a mom means putting yourself aside to care for the needs of another. In the process of caring for a new life you can lose yourself. To reawaken your feminine energy, take at least 10 minutes a day to sit in quiet meditation to reconnect with self. In order to reclaim your sexy you must be aware of what your inner voice is saying and identify with your authenticity. Close your eyes, sit with your legs folded or stretched out in front of you, place your palms on your legs and focus on your breathing. Let every thought fade from your mind and focus on your breathing while reciting positive affirmations of self love in your head. "I am beautiful and abundant,""my body is beautifully and wonderfully made," and  "I am a light to those around me" are all affirmations that can be used. Recite them in your mind until you believe them and embody the sexiness you desire through self-awareness.

7. Try Boudoir photography.

Every woman loves getting dressed up, especially in sexy little things. A fun way to reawaken your inner sex goddess is to turn it on for the camera. Boudoir photography is all about displaying the beauty of women in intimate apparel. Set up a photo shoot with a reputable boudoir photographer in your area and take a trip to a lingerie boutique to pick out one or two looks that make you feel your sexiest. Hair and makeup are usually included in boudoir photography packages, and for the woman who has never had the experience it is an unforgettable one. When the camera begins to click, it's time to leave your inhibitions at the door and turn it on! Once the photos are finished and retouched you will have an image of  your sexiest self to cherish forever. Place the photos in a frame and place them where they can be a constant reminder of the sex goddess inside of you.
