3 Sexier Ways To Burn Calories

Working out doesn't have to feel like a chore or be boring! You can burn some serious calories (and have more fun) outside of the traditional gym routine. Here are three sexy alternative workouts that will help you get fit and shed the weight in no time!

1. Have Sex (especially in the morning)

Women burned an average of 213 calories during 30 minutes of light running, while men burned 276. Sex, on the other hand, demanded 101 calories from men and just 69 from women, burning an average of 3.6 calories per minute. But when men and women have sex in the morning before breakfast, a hot and sweaty session can burn up to nearly 269 calories in 30 minutes.

So get going in the bedroom to flatten those abs and fit into that dress!

2. Pole Fitness

Pole dancing was once a taboo act reserved solely for the smoky atmospheres of what used to be underground strip joints, but in modern society,  pole dancing - or pole fitness - has become a mainstream form of workout for avid and novice gym goers alike.

Pole dancing has been featured on several mainstream talk shows from Oprah to Good Morning America, and according to the International Pole Dance Fitness Association (IPDFA), “is an activity that has evolved into an exercise embraced by professionals, performers and the average alike."  It takes great core and upper body strength to climb a pole and to perform the tricks often associated with a class,  so it’s no surprise that pole dancing has been associated with building muscle tone and sculpting the upper body as well as the abdomen.

Within a single class, women can burn from 250 to 650 calories and over a period of time participants can increase flexibility and build self-confidence.  Not to mention burning fat and inches! Talk about a sexy way to get into shape! Grab your favorite pair of comfortable heels and yoga shorts and hit the pole!

3. Hooping

Not the kind of hooping. Beyonce is a fan of this fun activity that we all have attempted in childhood, yet many of us have never mastered.  That’s right! I’m talking about hula hooping!  Believe it or not, this activity can actually help you define your midsection and burns 300 calories in 30 minutes! The key to this fat-burning exercise is the concentrated hip and waist movement that will help whip those hips and that core into shape!  Grab your favorite colored hula hoop (mine happens to be the ones filled with glitter) and get to twirling! For more of a challenge, try a weighted hoop. Even if you don’t keep the hoop around your waist, the key is to keep moving to remain active and boost your metabolism.

(Honorable Mention) Dancing

Even though dancing only burns 215 calories in a 30 minute period, it is still an amazingly fun way to shed the pounds with every twist of your hips and shuffle of your feet! Put on your favorite up tempo jams , leave your inhibitions behind you and get into a groove!

Try a fun and flirty chair dance class, or burn even more calories in a supercharged Zumba class.  As long as you are moving and raising your heart rate, you are moving closer towards weight loss in a fun way!
